आधुनिक भारतीय मूर्तिकला के जनक और महान कलाकार रामकिंकर बैज का जन्म 25 मई 1906 को बंगाल के बांकुरा में हुआ था। शांतिनिकेतन में रहते हुए उन्होंने भारतीय कला को एक नया और ऐतिहासिक आयाम दिया। उनकी ‘संथाल परिवार’ जैसी मूर्तियां कला जगत में एक मील का पत्थर मानी जाती हैं। (Ramkinkar Baij, the father of modern Indian sculpture and a great artist, was born on 25 May 1906 in Bankura, Bengal.
