कश्मीर घाटी में बढ़ते आतंकवाद और भयंकर राजनीतिक उथल-पुथल के बीच 25 मई 1990 को जम्मू-कश्मीर के तत्कालीन राज्यपाल जगमोहन को भारी दबाव में अपने पद से इस्तीफा देना पड़ा। उनकी जगह गिरीश चंद्र सक्सेना को नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया। यह कश्मीर के आधुनिक इतिहास की एक बड़ी घटना थी। (Amidst rising terrorism and severe political turmoil in the Kashmir Valley, the then Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Jagmohan, had to resign from his post under intense pressure on 25 May 1990. Girish Chandra Saxena was appointed as the new Governor in his place. This was a major event in the modern history of Kashmir.)
