कारगिल युद्ध के दौरान 29 मई 1999 को एक बेहद खेदजनक घटना घटी। पाकिस्तानी सेना द्वारा दागी गई एक स्टिंगर मिसाइल ने भारतीय वायुसेना के एक ‘Mi-17’ हेलीकॉप्टर को मार गिराया। इस अकल्पनीय हमले में स्क्वाड्रन लीडर राजीव पुंडीर समेत चार वीर भारतीय जवानों ने अपनी महान शहादत दी। (A highly tragic incident occurred during the Kargil War on 29 May 1999.
