‘बंगाल के बाघ’ के नाम से मशहूर महान शिक्षाविद् और कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश सर आशुतोष मुखर्जी का 25 मई 1924 को निधन हुआ था। उन्होंने भारतीय शिक्षा प्रणाली को आधुनिक बनाने में एक ऐतिहासिक भूमिका निभाई और कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय को विश्व स्तर का संस्थान बनाया। (Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee, the great educationist and Calcutta High Court judge famous as the ‘Tiger of Bengal’, passed away on 25 May 1924. He played a historical role in modernizing the Indian education system and transformed Calcutta University into a world-class institution.)
