आधुनिक ओडिशा राज्य के वास्तुकार और महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी महाराजा कृष्ण चंद्र गजपति का 25 मई 1974 को निधन हुआ। उन्होंने भाषा के आधार पर एक अलग ओडिशा राज्य के निर्माण के लिए बेबाक संघर्ष किया और राज्य के पहले प्रधानमंत्री (Premier) के रूप में ऐतिहासिक कार्य किए। (Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati, the architect of modern Odisha state and a great freedom fighter, passed away on 25 May 1974. He fiercely fought for the creation of a separate Odisha state based on language and did historical work as the state’s first Premier.)
