भारतीय पत्रकारिता के इतिहास का सबसे महान और अकल्पनीय दिन; 30 मई 1826 को कलकत्ता से पंडित जुगल किशोर शुक्ल ने भारत का पहला हिंदी समाचार पत्र ‘उदन्त मार्तण्ड’ प्रकाशित किया। इसी बेबाक और ऐतिहासिक शुरुआत के कारण 30 मई को भारत में ‘हिंदी पत्रकारिता दिवस’ मनाया जाता है। (The greatest and unimaginable day in the history of Indian journalism; on 30 May 1826, Pandit Jugal Kishore Shukla published India’s first Hindi newspaper ‘Udant Martand’ from Calcutta.
