अंग्रेजी और मलयालम साहित्य की सबसे बेबाक और साहसी कवयित्री कमला दास (माधवीकुट्टी/सुरय्या) का 31 मई 2009 को निधन हुआ। उन्होंने महिलाओं की इच्छाओं और समाज के दोगलेपन पर ऐतिहासिक और अकल्पनीय लेखनी लिखी। (The boldest and most courageous poetess of English and Malayalam literature, Kamala Das (Madhavikutty/Surayya) passed away on 31 May 2009.
